With the aim of revitalising the centre of Santiago and highlighting its rich heritage, the Government of Santiago - through its Regional Development Corporation - together with the support of the Santiago Stock Exchange, is organising a series of free guided tours of the historic stock exchange building, one of the capital's most emblematic architectural jewels.
The tour, which takes place every Wednesday at 12:00 noon, starts at the Santiago Tourist Information Office (OIT), located inside the same building at the intersection of Bandera and Moneda streets. From there, national and foreign visitors can delve into the history of this building, inaugurated in 1913, which for decades was the country's main stock exchange operations centre.
The experience is led by a trilingual tour guide, who offers information in Spanish, English and Portuguese, responding to the growing international interest in Santiago, with more than 2.3 million foreign tourists arriving in the capital through Arturo Merino Benítez Airport in 2024 alone.
SANTIAGO I KNOW YOU
“The tour is part of the Santiago I know you, The project, which in 2025 had a pilot version with 30 tours and more than 500 participants, in addition to the more than 2,000 visitors who came to the OIT in search of tourist information. For this 2026, the project is consolidated and continues, inviting both tourists and Santiago residents to rediscover the city with the eyes of a visitor and to value the cultural heritage of our region,” says Claudio Orrego, Governor of Santiago.
Those wishing to participate can register via the link below. the Santiago Regional Corporation publishes every Monday on its social networks. There is also the option of coming minutes before the tour starts to check availability.
The initiative is part of a Regional Government strategy to revitalise the historic centre, strengthen urban tourism and position Santiago as a cultural, cosmopolitan and attractive capital for visitors from all over the world.
