Gobierno de Santiago announces a lineup of cultural and tourism activities for Summer 2026 

The Metropolitan Regional Government of Santiago, led by Governor Claudio Orrego, unveiled a robust and diverse program of cultural, recreational, and tourism activities for Summer 2026, designed both for those staying in the capital during the holidays and for visitors to the Metropolitan Region.

The initiative seeks to consolidate Santiago as a complete destination, The region's culture, entertainment, neighbourhoods with identity, gastronomy and natural attractions were highlighted. According to Orrego, last year, the region received 2.5 million tourists and this figure is expected to be exceeded during the 2026 summer season.

A decentralised and diverse cultural offer

The agenda not only includes events in the centre of Santiago, but also activities promoted by the communes themselves, which highlight the value of local identity. Among the most outstanding are:

  • Watermelon Festival y Expo Paine Rural at Paine
  • Juan Radrigán Theatre Festival at Quilicura
  • Festival of Performing Arts at Recoleta
  • Escena de Montaña Theatre Festival at San José de Maipo
  • National Youth Cueca Championship at San Pedro
  • Alhuina Week at Alhué
  • First Beer Fest at Maria Pinto
  • International Jazz Festival at Providence
  • 33rd edition of the International Festival Teatro a Mil, with performances in different parts of the region during January.

Main programmed activities (January-February 2026)

The official programme includes free and open to the public events that will take place in different emblematic neighbourhoods of Santiago:

  • Bustamante Park: Wine Fair “Quinta Alegre in Parque Bustamante” - 10 and 11 January (12:00–21:00)
  • Bellavista neighbourhood: Enjoy Bellavista17 January (11:00–20:00)
  • Paris-London market: 17 and 18 January (12:00–20:00)
  • Colores de Yungay Market: 24 January (12:00–21:00)
  • Vive Lastarria en Verano: 31 January (12:00–21:00)
  • Santiago Te Amo Festival: 14 February (12:00–22:00)
